A pirate city from the iron-grip marauder game. Set high on the cliff tops it's a hub of vice for pirates, traders and folk of easy virtue!

I love that this manages to strike home one of the biggest points of any trading hub, which is to say its ownership changes hands often and its culture is cumulative. The walls with arched arcades, the great barrel vaults made of an older stone darkened by weather staining shows that things weren't just built but built around and rebuilt! The sleek steel of the top of the line landing ports contrasts so beautifully with the cracked stone and concrete of the aqueducts, which in turn drive home how impromptu and new and no doubt necessary the corrugated roof shacks must have been for them to have been built so quick and haphazard. The entirety of this city isn't merely a character, it HAS character!Flagstone streets supported by riveted I beams, signs in any myriad of languages, this whole structure overlooking a background obscured by clouds. I have to fave this so that I can keep coming back and looking at it.

Just incredible!!! Can't imagine how long it took to do this. Should always be kept in the artist's 'private collection'.
